The Thomson Reuters Foundation will host a visit to Britain this month by award winning environmental journalists from Cameroon.

The journalists won the one-week, expenses-paid trip for their reporting on climate change. The awards by the British High Commission in Cameroon went to:

- Edwin Kindzeka Moki of CRTV Radio – winner of Best Radio Report for a story titled “Confronting Climate Change in Cameroon”.

- Moné Emama Damaris Bertille of New TV Yaoundé – winner of Best Television Report for her story on water problems in the Far North of Cameroon titled “Sans eau, une Vie si Pénible”.

- Ntungwe Ngalame Elias of Eden Newspaper – winner of Best Print Report for an article headlined “Coping with Climate Change in Yaounde”.

The visit from April 12-16 will include briefings in London and Oxford and a day at the Eden Project, an environmental centre in southwest England.

A High Commission news release said the competition was launched in September last year to recognise and reward media practitioners who excel in explaining global and local issues surrounding climate change and the lead-up to the Copenhagen summit last December.
