A Thomson Reuters Foundation multimedia documentary created for the fifth anniversary of the Indian Ocean tsunami has been nominated for a prestigious Emmy award for news and documentary.
The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences nominated Surviving the Tsunami: Stories of Hope for the "New Approaches to News and Documentary Programming: Current News Coverage" category of television's highest honour.
Combining imagery by Reuters photojournalists with eyewitness testimony and interactive graphics, Surviving the Tsunami reveals the strength of the human spirit in the face of catastrophe.
Also up for the award is Times of Crisis, a Reuters multimedia documentary charting the year of global upheaval following the collapse of Lehman Brothers.
Winners will be announced on September 27th.
