LONDON (TrustLaw) - The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) meets on Wednesday to discuss the implementation of the "Securities Whistleblower Incentives and Protection" provision within the Dodd-Frank Financial Reform Act.

The legislation on whistleblowers (previously discussed here) is expected to bring a significant increase in prosecutions under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) because it provides a financial incentive for employees to report the misdeeds of their employers to the SEC.

The meeting, which starts at 10:00am EST, is open to the public and takes place in the Auditorium, Room L-002, at the SEC Headquarters, 100 F Street, Washington DC.

For those based elsewhere, the event will be webcast live.
