Sept 12 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Afghanistan at 0730 GMT on Monday.

KABUL - Afghan security forces and foreign troops killed eight insurgents and detained 11 in operations in six provinces, the Ministry of Interior said in a statement.

HELMAND - Insurgents in Nad-e Ali district of southern Helmand province killed the head of a school on Sunday, the Education Ministry said in a statement.

HERAT - Insurgents killed three policemen in Gulran district of eastern Herat province on Sunday, Nor Khan Nikzad a spokesman for Herat police chief, said.

HELMAND - Unknown gunmen killed a member of the Ulema Council in Laskar Gah city of southern Helmand province on Sunday, said Dawood Ahmadi, a spokesman for the provincial governor. (Editing by Sanjeev Miglani)
