It is a bittersweet day here at TrustMedia as I head back to the states tomorrow! However, as I have been getting ready to depart, the new intern Hannah, a photojournalism and international relations student from Boston University, arrived on Monday, ready to help the team. I have been busy welcoming her and getting her caught up to speed and she is already hard at work!

We have many courses and events coming up, and a lot do update you all on. Two of our trainers are on their way to Bangladesh to run a "Writing and Reporting News" course for Bangladeshi journalists, which starts this Sunday, and we can’t wait to hear from them. Also, a team of consultants has been sent to Morocco to work with the Moroccan state news agency (MAP), to help it transition to a freer and more independent news agency. Funded by the FCO in Morocco, this is the first assignment of a one year programme to promote transparency and accountability and to increase the exposure of political reporting in the Moroccan media. We are also organising a parliamentary and elections training course in Kutaisi, Georgia. The new Georgian parliament will be moved here in the running up to the elections in October this year. This course will begin on July 23, and we are anxious to observe the election coverage as October approaches. As with any of our courses, we love receiving blogs and updates from our alumni and participants, and we listen closely to your feedback.

In Aswat Masriya news, we will be announcing Cairo courses in Reporting on Gender Issues and Financial and Business Reporting. Further details will be posted soon. Also, a new intensive course, “Reporting On Women's Issues” in Barcelona, has just been confirmed, which will offer journalists skills to enhance their coverage on women’s issues, opinions and empowerment. These courses, as well as many other courses’ application instructions have been opened on the site, so please make sure you stay on top of upcoming dates! A list of these courses is provided below.

Get prepared for Hannah’s weekly blog, as she will also bring news about how the staff is coping with the Olympics! It was a pleasure informing all of our readers during my time as an intern here at TrustMedia!
