by Reuters

Strong winds and heavy rains batter Sri Lanka.

The start of the monsoon season is producing winds of more than 100 miles or 70 kilometers per hour.

The Navy and Air Force continue rescue efforts. There are at least 36 missing fishermen. This man is one of the lucky ones. He has been rescued.

More than a dozen have died, including 14 fishermen.

At least 37 boats have disappeared.

And there is little relief in sight with heavy showers expected in the coming days.

Last month, a Cyclone killed at least seven people displaced thousands of others.
