Flash floods in India’s Himalayan region of Uttarakhand have killed thousands of people and left thousands more missing.
A ShelterBox Response Team (SRT) has been in the area assessing the need for emergency shelter for the past two weeks in the most hard to reach locations. Dialogues have also been initiated with federal and local authorities, local NGOs, other international aid agencies.

Another SRT is travelling to the affected area to support ShelterBox's disaster relief efforts in the country due to the enormous scale of the disaster.
