Sept 13 (Reuters) - Tropical storm Ingrid, the ninth storm of the Atlantic hurricane season, has formed in the Gulf of Mexico, the U.S. National Hurricane Center (NHC) said in its latest bulletin on Friday.
Ingrid was about 175 miles (280 km) southeast of Tuxpan in Mexico, with maximum sustained winds of 45 mph (75 kph), the NHC said.
The storm was expected to move very close to the coast of Mexico during the next couple of days, and additional strengthening was forecast during the next 48 hours, it said. (Reporting by Anupam Chatterjee in Bangalore; Editing by Jeffrey Benkoe)
