LONDON (Thomson Reuters Foundation) – Egypt is the worst country in the Arab world to be a woman due to endemic sexual harassment, high rates of genital cutting and a surge of violence after the Arab Spring, a Thomson Reuters Foundation expert poll showed on Tuesday.
Iraq ranked second-worst, followed by Saudi Arabia, Syria and Yemen. Comoros came out on top, followed by Oman, Kuwait, Jordan and Qatar.
