Tropical storm Alessia struck Australia at about 18:00 GMT on 23 November. Data supplied by the US Navy and Air Force Joint Typhoon Warning Center suggest that the point of landfall was near 14.0 S, 126.7 E. Alessia brought 1-minute maximum sustained winds to the region of around 74 km/h (46 mph). Wind gusts in the area may have been considerably higher.
