BUCHAREST, Jan 16 (Reuters) - Here are news stories, press reports and events to watch which may affect Romanian financial markets on Thursday.

LEU

Romania's leu currency exchange rate is reasonably close to "fair value" deputy central bank governor Cristian Popa said on Wednedsday.

DEBT TENDER

Romania holds tender to sell 100 million lei ($30.06 million) in treasury bonds due to mature on July 2027.

Last time it sold the planned 200 million lei worth of the RO1227DBN011 paper with a residual maturity of 170 months on May 31 at an average accepted yield of 5.16 percent.

IFR

Romania joined a select band of CEEMEA sovereign borrowers on Tuesday when it issued its debut 30-year bond, re-opening the dollar market in the process.

The country became only the sixth such borrower to issue at that tenor, after Hungary, Israel, Poland, Russia and Turkey, when it sold the long-dated paper, along with a shorter 10-year tranche, in a deal that raised USD2bn in total.

* Romania plans to issue another bond, a 10-year, in the international capital markets before the end of the first half of the year, a government official told IFR.

GRAFT - COURT RULING

The Constitutional Court on Wednesday struck down a draft law that would have boosted deputies' immunity from corruption charges, saying its provisions went against the rule of law.

EGYPT- ROMANIAN WHEAT

Egypt's main wheat-buying agency, the General Authority for Supply Commodities, set a tender on Wednesday to buy an unspecified amount of wheat from global suppliers for shipment Feb. 15-28.

It is seeking to buy cargoes of soft and/or milling wheat from the United States, Canada, Australia, France, Germany, Poland, Argentina, Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and Romania.

CEE MARKETS

Central European currencies eased on Wednesday on expectations of interest rate cuts in the region, while stocks climbed after the World Bank raised its global economic growth forecast.
