Quebec seniors' residence fire kills three, 30 unaccounted for

TORONTO, Jan 23 (Reuters) - At least three people died and 30 were unaccounted for after a major fire broke out in a seniors' residence in the French-speaking province of Quebec, Canadian media reported on Thursday.

The fire happened in the small community of L'Isle-Verte, Quebec, located on the St. Lawrence river northeast of Quebec City. Initial reports were that 20 residents had been transported to safety, the Canadian Press reported. (Reporting by Jeffrey Hodgson; Editing by Stephen Powell)
