BEIRUT, Feb 3 (Reuters) - Al Qaeda's general command said it had no link with the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) and that it was not responsible for the actions of the militant group, which has clashed with other Syrian rebels this year.
"Al Qaeda announces that it does not link itself with (ISIL) ... It is not a branch of the al Qaeda group, does not have an organizational relationship with it and (al Qaeda) is not the group responsible for their actions," the General Command said in a message posted on jihadi websites on Monday.
