JAKARTA, Feb 20 (Reuters) - There are signs that suppliers of rice from Thailand are dumping the grain in Indonesia, a senior trade ministry official in Southeast Asia's biggest economy said on Thursday.
The government of Thailand, has been besieged by protests in recent weeks, with the anti-corruption agency filing charges against Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra over a rice subsidy scheme that has left hundreds of thousands of farmers unpaid.
"There is an indication that Thai rice suppliers dumped their rice exports in Indonesia," Bachrul Chairi, the director-general of foreign trade at Indonesia's trade ministry, told reporters, but was unable to provide details of volumes or companies.
