KIEV, Feb 28 (Reuters) - Ukraine's acting president has signed a decree dismissing the head of the armed forces general staff, his office said on Friday.

Admiral Yuriy Ilyin had been appointed at the height of protests against President Viktor Yanukovich, who was ousted last Saturday. No reason was given for his dismissal in a brief statement on the presidential website. (Reporting By Natalia Zinets, Editing by Timothy Heritage)
