March 2 (Reuters) - A magnitude 6.7 quake struck off Okinawa, Japan, the U.S. Geological Survey said on Sunday, but no tsunami was expected.

The USGS said the quake was centered 89 miles (143 km) north-northwest of Naha, Okinawa, at a depth of almost 70 miles (112 km).

A tsunami was not expected, the National Weather Service's Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said. (Editing by Peter Cooney)
