René Prêtre is professor at the University of Lausanne and has been head of the cardiovascular surgery department at the University Hospital of Lausanne since August 2012.

As medical specialist for paediatric cardiac surgery, René Prêtre organizes humanitarian missions on a regular basis. Additionally, the charismatic surgeon has been elected Swiss of the Year 2009 and has joined Tdh’s Council of Foundation in 2013.
