Colombia: sharing best practices in justice for minors
The regional seminar ‘Practical Experiences in Restorative Juvenile Justice’ takes place on 25th, 26th and 27th of March in Medellín, Colombia (http://www.tdh.ch/en/countries/colombia). This event is organised jointly by Terre des hommes (Tdh), the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC)(https://www.unodc.org/unodc/en/index.html) and the Colombian Family Welfare Institute (ICBF).
The aim of this meeting is to share best practices in the juvenile justice systems of South America. It also enables for raising awareness among an audience consisting of regional directors of ICBF, leaders of the criminal liability system for adolescents and mayors, on the topic of restorative juvenile justice.
To meet these objectives, several international experts are invited, including, but not limited to, Javier Palummo, Víctor Herrero, Larissa Balsamo, Mario Hemmerling and Wanderlino Nogueira.
In parallel with the academic programme, cultural activities related to the subject are organised. The French journalist and artist, Christine Renaudat, will present an acoustic exhibition based on the testimonials of children in conflict with the law in Colombia.
At the end, a body of texts on good practices will be published and distributed to the attendees.
