Chilean authorities say 2 confirmed dead following massive quake

SANTIAGO, April 2 (Reuters) - Two people were confirmed dead and three were seriously injured when a major earthquake struck off the northern coast of Chile on Tuesday night, the governor of Iquique Gonzalo Prieto told local radio station Cooperativa.

The earthquake of magnitude 8.2 struck triggered a tsunami that hit the northern part of the country. (Reporting by Anthony Esposito; Editing by Ron Popeski)
