Skydiver dies in Arizona during attempt at record jump - organizers

PHOENIX, April 3 (Reuters) - An experienced skydiver who was part of a group of 222 people trying to set a world record formation jump in Arizona died on Thursday following a parachute malfunction, organizers said.

"The person was on the first attempt at the record this morning," said Gulcin Gilbert, spokeswoman for the group, World Team, which was attempting the record in the Arizona desert. (Reporting by David Schwartz; Writing By Cynthia Johnston)
