TEL AVIV, May 13 (Reuters) - Ex-Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert was sentenced to six years' imprisonment on Tuesday for accepting bribes linked to a real-estate deal, the first time a former head of government in Israel has been ordered jailed.
Olmert, a centrist credited internationally with working towards a peace settlement with the Palestinians, had denied wrongdoing in the Holyland apartment complex deal, which took place while he was in his previous post of Jerusalem mayor. (Reporting by Jeffrey Heller)
