May 29 (Reuters) - Fire crews in Texas were battling a blaze at a fertilizer warehouse in a town outside of Dallas on Thursday, but there have been no explosions and no immediate report of injuries, local officials said.

Police were evacuating a five-block radius around the fertilizer plant, which is located about two blocks off the main square in Athens, which is located 75 miles southeast of Dallas, a police dispatcher said.

The blaze was reported at 5:45 p.m. CST, the dispatcher said.

It was not immediately clear who owns the fertilizer plant or how the blaze erupted. (Reporting by Victoria Cavaliere; Editing by Leslie Adler)
