June 11 (Reuters) - Meteorologists are forecasting a near- to below-normal 2014 Atlantic hurricane season. Based on the average from 1981 to 2010, a normal hurricane season averages 12 named storms with winds of 39 miles (63 kilometers) per hour or higher, six hurricanes with winds of 74 mph or higher and three major hurricanes or Category 3, 4 or 5 storms with winds of 111 mph or higher, according to the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). The following lists meteorologist forecasts for named tropical storms and hurricanes in the North Atlantic, Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico for the 2014 June-November season.
