Ukraine's defence ministry says rebels shoot down army cargo plane

DONETSK, Ukraine June 14 (Reuters) - Ukraine's Defence Ministry said on Saturday rebels had shot down a military cargo plane overnight carrying troops and supplies to the airport of the eastern city of Luhansk with a local TV station citing sources saying around 30 killed.

"On the night of June 13-14, the terrorists...fired from an anti-aircraft weapon and a large calibre machine gun, shooting down military transport aircraft...IL-76 as it was about to land," the ministry said in a statement that did not name the number of fatalities.
