Central African Republic: Taking refuge in neighbouring countries

There is a continued influx of Central African Republic (CAR) refugees in Cameroon, Chad, DR Congo, Congo-Brazzaville, South Sudan and Sudan. In Cameroon, a large number of refugees are being hosted at the Gado Site while others are living together with the host community.

Due to the worsening crisis and persecution, a larger percentage of the refugee population is choosing not to return home.

The European Commission's Humanitarian aid department (ECHO) supports the displaced in CAR as well as the people from CAR taking seeking haven in other countries.
