BUCHAREST, July 31 (Reuters) - Here are news stories, press reports and events to watch which may affect Romanian financial markets on Thursday.

FLOODS

One person died and three others were missing after heavy rain caused floods in southwest Romania over the past three days, forcing hundreds of villagers to flee their homes, the interior ministry said on Wednesday.

BCP

Portugal's second-largest listed bank Millennium bcp said on Wednesday it agreed to sell its Romanian unit to Hungary's OTP Bank for 39 million euros ($52 million).

ERSTE SWINGS TO LOSS

Erste Group Bank swung to a second-quarter net loss of 1.03 billion euros ($1.38 billion) as it wrote down its business in Romania and set aside 130 million euros for a Hungarian law forcing banks to compensate customers for mispriced loans.

CEE MARKETS

Central European stocks fell on Wednesday after western powers stepped up sanctions against Russia, prompting the Czech government to warn that a trade war could create a new Iron Curtain in Europe.
