UNITED NATIONS, Aug 14 (Reuters) - U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on Thursday welcomed the decision of Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki to step aside and his pledge of support for Haider al-Abadi as his successor.
