THE HAGUE, Sept 24 (Reuters) - The government of the Netherlands said on Wednesday it will deploy six F-16 fighter jets to support the U.S.-led strikes against Islamic State in Iraq.

The Dutch, a member of NATO and a close U.S. ally, will conduct flights over Iraqi airspace and provide training and advice to Iraqi and Kurdish military forces for a period of up to a year, it said in a statement. (Reporting By Anthony Deutsch)
