Three weeks into his appointment as the EU Ebola coordinator, Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management, Christos Stylianides, is visiting the three West African countries affected by the Ebola outbreak; Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone.

Commissioner Stylianides arrived to the region on Wednesday and has met with the national governments, local authorities, as well as humanitarian organisations and foreign diplomats. The Commissioner also spent time at a treatment centre where he met with Ebola survivors.

The visit follows the Commissioner's commitment to be present on the ground and express Europe's solidarity in person. From the field, the Commissioner reaffirmed that "responsibility is collective and so are our efforts".
