ERBIL, Iraq, Oct 22 (Reuters) - The Kurdistan region's security council said on Thursday an initial evaluation showed there were no Kurds among 69 hostages freed in a U.S. special forces raid in northern Iraq.
More than 20 Islamic State militants were killed and six detained during the raid early on Thursday in which Kurdish counter-terrorism forces took part. (Reporting by Isabel Coles; Editing by Michael Georgy/Mark Heinrich)
