MEXICO CITY, Dec 31 (Reuters) - A court has granted fugitive Texan teenager Ethan Couch an injunction against his deportation from Mexico to the United States, delaying his return by weeks or months, a Mexican migration official said on Thursday.
Couch's case would now be subject to migration proceedings because he entered the country illegally, but he would ultimately not be able to stay in the country, said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity.
Such cases generally took weeks or months to resolve and he would remain in the custody of Mexican migration authorities during the process, the official said. (Reporting by Dave Graham)
