BANGUI, Jan 4 (Reuters) - Authorities in the Central African Republic should halt a vote count following last week's presidential election because of fraud, around 20 of the 30 candidates who stood in the election told a news conference on Monday.

Their demand represents a challenge to election authorities who oversaw the Dec. 30 poll that many voters hope will restore peace to a country where thousands have died and around 1 million have fled from three years of conflict.
