Leader of Oregon standoff says en route to meet with local sheriff

BURNS, Ore., Jan 7 (Reuters) - The leader of a group of armed men occupying a U.S. wildlife refuge in rural southeastern Oregon said on Thursday he was en route to meet with a local sheriff about the standoff.

Ammon Bundy said he had left the compound with other occupiers in two vehicles to meet the sheriff at a neutral location. (Reporting by Jonathan Allen, writing by Dan Whitcomb, editing by G Crosse)
