Feb 20 (Reuters) - Law enforcement officers were searching a shopping center outside the South Carolina capital Columbia after reports of gunfire in the area, local police said on Saturday.

No victims have been found, with officers still in the process of evacuating the Columbiana Centre mall and talking with potential witnesses, the Columbia Police Department said on its Twitter account.

A representative for the Columbia Police Department could not be immediately reached for comment. A dispatcher for the Richland County Sheriff's Department forwarded questions to police. (Reporting By Frank McGurty in New York and Curtis Skinner in San Francisco)
