The Thomson Reuters Foundation met Mei Fong, author of One Child, at London's Frontline Club to get her take on the policy's impact and hear about the challenges she faced writing the book.
"Not only is there a first generation of only children, you now have the only children have their only children," said Fong, "So that has changed the structure how we view family, how we revere our elders, how we view women versus men.”
