Asylum:POV is a simply filmed but beautifully told refugee story in the first person. Monzer Darwish gently recounts his decision to leave Syria and his long journey to Europe with his fiancé. Images that are by turns intimate, shocking, and surprising illustrate an understated narrative to make this small film powerful. It was created for a video competition launched by the Institute of Global Affairs (IGA) at LSE in the spring of 2016 for short videos on the topic of migration.
