May 14 (Reuters) - A magnitude 7.7 earthquake struck 33 km off the eastern coast of Rabaul, Papua New Guinea on Tuesday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The epicentre of the quake was 10 km below the surface, the USGS said.
The USGS-linked Pacific Tsunami Warning Center issued a tsunami threat for parts of the Pacific after the quake.
