July 12 (Reuters) - Jailed American financier Jeffrey Epstein tried to pay off two potential witnesses in the child sex trafficking case against him late last year, prosecutors said late on Friday.

In a filing in Manhattan federal court, prosecutors said Epstein wired a total of $350,000 to the two individuals, who were not named. The accusation came as part of the prosecutors' motion to keep Epstein in jail as he awaits trial. (Reporting by Brendan Pierson in New York, editing by G Crosse)
