Marta has been with the Foundation for 11 years. In that time, she has been responsible for organising hundreds of journalism workshops and nowadays coordinates the Foundation’s bespoke training for media organisations, global NGOs and corporations alike, accompanying programmes through all their stages, from bidding to final reporting. In 2003 Marta left TRF to move to Qatar for six months and help launch the Aljazeera English news website. A return to the UK came with a place in a team of three organising NewsXchange – an annual conference for over 400 top broadcast media professionals. A stint at CNN followed, working on the African Journalist of the Year Awards and she returned to TRF mid-2005. She is a Portuguese national, bilingual in English and Portuguese and has fluent Italian, Spanish and French as well as a Masters degree in International Journalism.
