Lauren is Legal Manager at the Thomson Reuters Foundation and manages the relations of TrustLaw members and facilitates their engagement with the service. She handles the pro bono legal projects from TrustLaw’s community of NGOs and social enterprises, frames and defines the projects, and then connects them with lawyers. She also assists with the publication and distribution of the research carried out as part of cross-border research programmes.

Prior to joining the Foundation, Lauren worked in private practice as a corporate lawyer at Webber Wentzel, a leading law firm in South Africa. She subsequently worked in-house as corporate and commercial legal counsel at the financial services and brokerage firms, Cantor Fitzgerald and BGC Partners, in London. She gained experience in the non-profit sector by volunteering at the South African Human Rights Commission and helped support asylum seekers at Lawyers For Human Rights.

Lauren is a solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales and a South African qualified attorney. She holds a Bachelor of Social Science and Bachelor of Laws from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal, and the Bachelor of Civil Laws from the University of Oxford.
