Raúl is the Programme Manager for Europe and MENA. He is also working to expand the TrustLaw network in Europe and MENA regions. Raúl is reaching out to the beneficiaries - NGO’s, charities, social enterprises and social businesses to join the network. Along with this, he is also reaching out to the major law firms, lawyers and corporate counsels in this region to offer their probono support to these organizations.

Prior to joining the Thomson Reuters Foundation, Raúl worked in different development and nonprofit areas for more than ten years, overseeing and distributing grants in Africa, Asia and Latin America.

He has developed and implemented a wide range of educational and cultural programs to raise awareness of various social issues in Spain and Europe, as well as cooperation development programs in Ethiopia, Equatorial Guinea, Kenya, Senegal, Mozambique, Benin, Bangladesh, India, El Salvador, Paraguay and Brazil.

Raúl holds a degree in Law. He received a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from ESADE Business School in Madrid, a Certificate in European Law and Economics from University of Paris I Pantheon-Sorbonne in Paris, a Certificate in Peace and Development Studies from University of Castellon and a Masters of Arts in European-Latin American Relations from University of Bradford.

Raúl co-founded the Fundación por los Derechos Humanos 10.12.48. He is based in Madrid and has lived in Valencia, Orleans, Bradford, Lisbon, Paris, Brussels, Maputo, São Paulo and New York.
