AN INITIATIVE TO SUPPORT GLOBAL PRO BONOBack to top

We are inviting lawyers worldwide to join the TrustLaw Fellows programme, an initiative to support the Thomson Reuters Foundation's global pro bono legal service.

The programme is designed to offer lawyers the unique opportunity to help with the Foundation's in-house legal needs, work on key development issues and contribute to spreading the practice of pro bono globally.

Details of the initiative are as follows:

Who: Associates and trainee lawyers (or equivalents) - applications welcome from law firms, companies, government or public sector. 

Where: We will consider applications for a secondment to our offices in London, New York, Mumbai, Hong Kong, Buenos Aires and Nairobi (subject to local legal requirements). 

When: Applications for our first London and New York intakes close 6 January 2017 (for a March 2017 start date). Please contact us if you would like to propose alternative timeframes.

Applications for other offices are accepted all year around - firms to nominate secondment dates (minimum 3 months; ideally 6 months).

TRUSTLAW FELLOWS WILLBack to top

  • Work with the TrustLaw team to run our global pro bono service and strategic initiatives
  • Advise the Thomson Reuters Foundation on in-house legal issues (with supervision)
  • Work on key global development issues ranging from human trafficking and slavery to the refugee crisis, women’s rights, and social enterprise and impact investing
  • Foster strategic relationships with corporate counsel, business leaders, NGOs and social enterprises
  • Build their profile through public speaking and networking opportunities as an ambassador for the TrustLaw service
  • Improve legal and analytical skills across a wide range of practice areas
