NGOs participating in the survey were asked the following questions:

“Has your organisation had to report fraud or misappropriation of funds worth more than $10,000 in any of its overseas programmes in the last 5 years?” and “If yes, how much was misappropriated and where?”

Twelve organizations responded with data. This chart shows how much fraud they said they had experienced. The central percentage figure refers to how much this constitutes as an average of the NGOs’ total expenditure.
