TUNIS, Jan 24 (Reuters) - Tunisian police have placed under house arrest the political adviser of ousted president Zine al-Abidine Ben Ali who was in charge of monitoring the media, state television said on Monday.
"Abdelwahhab Abdalla has been placed under house arrest," it said. Authorities said on Sunday Abdalla, who managed government appointees to all state media outlets, had disappeared and was sought by police.
Tunisia's interim government said last week 33 members of Ben Ali's family had been arrested but named only one of them -- Imed Trabelsi, a nephew of Ben Ali's wife Leila.
On Sunday authorities said police arrested two confidantes of Ben Ali, Abdelaziz bin Dhia, the deposed leader's spokesman and chief adviser, and Abdallah Qallal, a former interior minister and head of the appointed upper parliamentary house.
