MOSCOW, Feb 9 (Reuters) - A blast was heard in the centre of the Chechen capital Grozny in Russia's North Caucasus on Wednesday, Interfax news agency reported citing law enforcement sources.
It did not immediately say if there were casualties.
The mainly Muslim North Caucasus are plagued with violence fueled by two separatist wars in Chechnya since the mid-1990s.
