Roxy's story: "Only God can judge me"

by Nina Koussi, Adella Mbabazi and Hazvine Mwanaka | @theaidsalliance | International HIV/AIDS Alliance - UK

As sex workers around the world welcome Amnesty International’s new policy on sex work, they also remind us that the fight for sex worker rights is far from over.

Roxy, 25, is a transgender sex worker from Cape Town, South Africa and she is also living with HIV. She faces many human rights violations in her life, not least the discrimination she experiences in health facilities.

Watch the video and find out why Roxy is advocating for the decriminalisation of sex work.

Nina Koussi, Adella Mbabazi and Hazvine Mwanakaand are members of the Key Correspondents network which focuses on marginalised groups affected by HIV, to report the health and human rights stories that matter to them. The network is supported by the International HIV/AIDS Alliance.
