Ex-Rwandan mayor, wanted for genocide, arrested in eastern Congo

KINSHASA, Dec 10 (Reuters) - Democratic Republic of Congo has arrested a former mayor accused of orchestrating a massacre that killed tens of thousands of people during Rwanda's 1994 genocide, the head of Congo's military intelligence said on Thursday.

Ladislas Ntaganzwa, who headed the commune of Nyakizu in southeastern Rwanda, was indicted in 1996 by the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda on charges of genocide and related crimes. (Reporting By Aaron Ross; Additional reporting by Kenny Katombe; Editing by Emma Farge/Jeremy Gaunt)
