LIMA, Nov 20 (Reuters) - The Chinese delegation at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Lima said countries including Peru and Chile have expressed interest in joining the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) trade deal it backs.
Tan Jian, a senior member of the delegation, said the Chinese want to reach an agreement soon, given rising protectionism in the world. He said the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and RCEP were both valid paths to a Free Trade Area of the Asia-Pacific, however.
