MUNICH, March 24 (Reuters) - The German state of Bavaria will double the budget funds available to help the region cope with the coronavirus crisis to 20 billion euros, State Premier Markus Soeder said on Tuesday.

"This is the largest economic programme we have ever decided on in Bavaria," Soeder said, adding that further measures such as increased state guarantees were planned as well. (Reporting by Jörn Poltz Writing Scot W. Stevenson Editing by Riham Alkousa)
