PARIS, April 23 (Reuters) - The attacker who stabbed to death a female police administrative worker in Rambouillet, outside Paris, did not shout Islamist slogans during the assault, a police source told Reuters.

That source also confirmed previous media reports the attacker has Tunisian nationality, adding that he was in France legally and had no criminal record.

Paris region president Valerie Pecresse had earlier told BFM TV that a terrorist motive for the attack could not be ruled out. (Reporting by Benoit Van Overstraeten; Editing by Catherine Evans)
